During the video production task, my knowledge of filming and editing technology increased considerably. My understanding of different shot types also improved, as I learned how to create them using a digital film camera. The video included shots such as tracking, medium close up, close up and wide shots, which when edited created a professional replica of the original video. To edit the video, we used video editing software called “Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0”, with which we used the clipping tools to create ‘invisible’ continuity editing. This software also made it relatively simple to sync the singer's mouth to the music, which is essential for the music video. This task reinforced this fact, and i have learned that it is incredibly important in video production to keep the timing with clips and sound accurate.
During the A2 year, i would like to make sure the lip sync on the main coursework task is more accurate, and i intend to develop my knowledge of shot types in order to create a professional looking music video. I would also like to create my video in a more diverse location.
